Plitvice Lakes National Park
Plitvice Lakes National Park, one of the most beautiful national parks in Europe – is an area of 16 magnificent small and large lakes interconnected by cascades and waterfalls. This national park has rightfully been listed as UNESCO’s natural World Heritage site. The lakes are located in a wooded, mountainous part of Lika. A walk along the forest paths by the lakes is truly refreshing during the hot summer months.
Plitvice National Park is an area surrounded by dense forests of beech, fir, and spruce, watered by various springs of the Korana River. Plitvice National Park is decorated with several caves and flower meadows too.
The area of Plitvice Lakes is a paradise for walkers and hikers as well as nature lovers. Lakes are lovely and cool in summer, icy and calm in winter, yellow and ochre in autumn, green and fresh in spring – any time of the year it is a privilege to be around those lakes! Plitvice Park is conveniently located near the main road that connects Zagreb and Croatia Adriatic Coast.
For this excursion, we can organize rustic accommodation in private homes around the Plitvice Lakes National Park. This will also be your best chance to taste original Croatian food.
